KNOW YOUR STUFF APP
The Challenge
I.I.I. came to us with the challenge of rebuilding the Know Your Stuff® web and mobile application from the ground up. We were to build a completely new and secure backend infrastructure, expanding its core functionality while incorporating new elements and aligning the look and feel to I.I.I. standards. Before launch, the migration of 121,495 existing users and their data to the new app was imperative in facilitating a seamless transition.
The Process
The Insurance Information Institute came to us to help form their flagship app's product strategy, technical foundation, and user experience. As an Associate Creative Director on the account, I led the team of UX researchers, U.I. designers, and content strategists through content strategy, wireframing, and design. At the same time, I collaborated closely with the client and internal stakeholders.
The Solution
Our execution included improvements in user experience through the interface and design changes for an easily navigable app that helped new users get started from the onset while providing guidance throughout. We created a cohesive organization within the tool that would allow users to find what they're looking for quickly with the ability to export claims information into CSV, PDF, and X.L.S. reports. We built the Know Your Stuff® web and mobile applications to be cloud-based, allowing users to easily create and manage inventories with the comfort of knowing that updates stay synced across all devices.
In enhancing the tool's core functionality, we included an analytics dashboard with charts, tables, and graphs for users to see the total value of their belongings by the property, room, and collection - at a glance.
Our app development focused on several strategic features, including the discreet placement of information throughout the Know Your Stuff pages to help guide and inform users. Tips on how to get the most from the app are woven into the pages, while lightbulb icons open at a tap to present valuable insurance information from I.I.I., educating users as they interact with the app.
The Results
The app received over 10,000 downloads in the app store with an average user rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars.
